LIBERAL DEMOCRAT COUNCILLORS SUCCEED IN GETTING CROSS-PARTY SUPPORT TO EXAMINE VETERAN BUS PASS SCHEME

Liberal Democrat councillors have succeeded in getting cross-party support to examine a proposal to provide free bus passes for veterans with valid ID cards.

Cllr Kathryn Field, Leader of the Liberal Democrat group explains:

“We are very sympathetic to this proposal but any scheme that is introduced must be both fair and financially sustainable. 

The best way to achieve this is through a cross-party scrutiny group who can then bring a full financial assessment of the proposal to the County Council’s cabinet.”
