For years Liberal Democrat Councillors on Rother have struggled to raise the standard of re-cycling in the District.
We welcome the introduction of kerbside re-cycling and are disappointed that the initial roll-out caused so much distress to residents.
 
 Litter and dog bin collection from the parishes was not included in the new waste contract in 2007.  Parishes have been told they to make their own arrangements.

Many residents are still waiting for the large wheely-bins larger families can ask for, and most of those in the rural areas are still waiting for their "green" bins

Cllr Forster reports that people in East Bexhill are up in arms about the Southern Waters’ Waste Treatment Plant. It was built 3 years ago, but has never run properly, and has not been “adopted by Southern Water. This makes it difficult for local residents, who suffer from the noxious smells, to negotiate any improvement.
